Sustainable Water Management
We are committed to water conservation for the communities of Villacuri – Ica, in Peru, so we manage our operations based on the AWS Standard, which allows us to work transparently and collaboratively in the sustainable management of water.
We have developed a Water Management Procedure focus on achieving comprehensive resource management, contributing to the conservation of the Villacurí aquifer, our main water source.
Los Laureles de Villacuri Forest
Aligned with our water conservation goal, we seek to reuse water from our reverse osmosis system, so we have planted 7 hectares of ‘Huarango’ trees on Los Laureles farm. Currently, we have over 2,400 plants in growth.
Our forest contributes to the capture of CO2, impacting on the climate change. Likewise, having this type of plantation helps improve soil quality.
Carbon Footprint
Recycling Program
As part of our Integrated Waste Managment System in our farms in Ica – Peru, we have implemented spaces to develop a valorization program, where we give a second chance to waste. In this area, we work on reusable waste to give them value and a second use, either within our organization or externally.
This initiative allows us to contribute to enviromental conservation and raise awareness among our employees about the importance of recycling, promoting a commitment to sustainability.
Community Development
Water for All
As part of our mission, Vanguard Group International made an alliance with Continental Fresh to connect with table grape consumers in the United States through the ‘Water for All’ initiative.
To achieve this, we have implemented the ‘Water for All’ seal on the packaging of our Peruvian table grapes that will be sold in major supermarkets across the USA. Also, we will allocate a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of these products to the BLUE Mission association, a non-profit organization that works to provide a decent life for low-income families in Latin America through water and sanitation projects.
Sounds in the Sand
The project wants to develop the artistic interest of children and technical skills that allow them to socialize and grow in values that consolidate them as integral human beings. Furthermore, through the developed works and projects, the aim is to address themes such as sustainability, values, rights, among others.
New Generations
Education & Sports
The Education & Sports program promotes wellness and discipline to school-age children and teenagers in Santa Cruz de Villacurí, Nueva Esperanza, Tierra Prometida and Ica, through a soccer training academy.
Sports provide opportunities for social interaction and the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes in children and teenagers. Additionally, they have a positive influence on the academic performance of youth by promoting autonomy, responsibility, and sociability.
Choral Symphony
The program promotes high-quality musical education for children and teenagers, aiming to cultivate their practice, knowledge, and enjoyment of artistic and cultural activities. It encourages the use of the voice as a natural instrument and fosters proficiency in musical instruments such as flute, violin, cello, and piano.
In the medium term, the project aims to establish a rural symphony orchestra spanning from “Expansión Urbana” to “Villacurí”.
