href=\"https:\/\/www.freshplaza.com\/europe\/article\/9578122\/short-supplies-of-grapes-globally-makes-for-early-southern-peruvian-start\/\">Here is a look at that conversation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grape harvest has begun two weeks earlier this season out of southern Peru. \u201cThis is allowing us to meet current, and new, customer demand that is elevated due to the shortages\/quality issues resulting from the California and Piura (northern Peru) circumstances,\u201d says Ethan Williams, VP Sales and Marketing Vanguard International. \u201cThose weather events have significantly reduced the yields compared to the originally forecasted volumes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-e797fe3\" data-block-id=\"e797fe3\"><style>.stk-e797fe3{height:20px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-image stk-block-image stk-block stk-abb290e\" data-block-id=\"abb290e\"><style>.stk-abb290e{margin-bottom:50px !important}.stk-abb290e .stk-img-wrapper{width:60% !important;height:450px !important}@media screen and (max-width:767px){.stk-abb290e .stk-img-wrapper{width:100% !important;height:360px !important}}<\/style><figure><span class=\"stk-img-wrapper stk-image--shape-stretch\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"stk-img wp-image-2280\" src=\"https:\/\/shield2.dudesign.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/caja-de-uvas.webp\" width=\"450\" height=\"800\"\/><\/span><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvest in Ica, Peru has begun with the Ivory, Autumn Crisp and Sweet Celebration varieties, all of which are expected to continue to harvest over the next few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That shortage out of California and Northern Peru is in turn putting pressure on premium quality grape supplies particularly. \u201cWe have an excellent crop to work with this year,\u201d says Williams. \u201cVanguard\u2019s owned table grape plantings are shaping up to produce similar volumes to last season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div height=\"600\"\/><\/span><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Producing regions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grape supplies worldwide right now are coming from several countries including the U.S., South Africa, Chile and Brazil though Vanguard is primarily shipping from its Ica production. \u201cHowever we continue to source products from all other stated regions to create the greatest value for our global customers based on their respective preferences,\u201d says Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-c782c25\" data-block-id=\"c782c25\"><style>.stk-c782c25{height:20px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-image decoding=\"async\" class=\"stk-img wp-image-2279\" src=\"https:\/\/shield2.dudesign.pe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/uvas-en-bolsa-2.webp\" width=\"800\" height=\"602\"\/><\/span><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To no surprise, the demand is strong globally for Ica grapes. \u201cBuyers have been actively looking for supply from the Southern hemisphere,\u201d says Williams. In fact, demand is so great that the pricing potential is \u201cthrough the roof\u201d for premium packs. \u201cWe are maintaining reasonable pricing with our partners, however, as we recognize the precious balance between sales returns and volume turnover. Our goal is to create a win-win scenario with our suppliers and customers.
